Externship 2018 !
Week One!
Blog Promt 1:
My Externship is with Coach O’kelly the athletic director for the High Tech High Village. I’m excited to learn more about what an athletic director does for each sport. I’m nervous to handle lots of workload if there is any.
Blog Promt 2:
So an athletic directors life savior would be “Home Campus” I have learned how to use this and understand why it helps them so much. This website helps the coach to keep all student athletes on check, on rosters, and have those multiple students that do several sports all in one website instead of different paper work.

Week Two!
Blog Promt 3:
A challenge I have came across was getting used to all the workload this externship has. Being an athletic director is more work than someone will think. My mentor is in charge of all sports in all the school, therefore many students participate and it involves them to turn in work. The way I have addressed this is by asking for help from my co-workers and mentor.
Since there is four interns, three others and me it’s been a lot easier to handle the workload. My mentor and my co-workers have supported me with the workload and to grow. I had gotten sick and I knew that me mentor was going to understand and that my coworkers would help me with my work.

Week Three!
Blog Promt 4:
High Tech High has gave me the skill to be able to talk to people. I am a shy person and before coming to hthi I had never had the skill to talk to random people. Therefore at my externship people come in and out of the office and when my mentor is out in meetings I would have to talk to them. So that skill that hthi taught me I am able to use them at my externship. A skill that I needed but I didn’t was being able to handle the workload. HTHI has been a project based school and has never really gave out a lot of work so coming in into an externship with a lot of paperwork to do was hard but just being on top of it made it easier.
My externship has been similar to some high school projects I have done in ways where it involves talking to people and explain what my project is. At externship we have visitors that visit our school asking us questions about the sports program. The only different thing would be the amount of workload because even then projects aren’t as much work.
Week Four!
Mind Map Journey!
Blog Promt 5:
I am going to study Kinesiology. This externship doesn’t really have anything to do with kinesiology other than it involves sports. I would consider going into sports management because I had this internship junior year and now senior year and I have gotten the hang of it and it’s pretty cool seeing the growth I’ve done since junior year.
